October Lunch & Learn

Tuesday, October 20, 12:00 p.m. | The October Lunch and Learn is on Tuesday, October 20, 2025. Our address is 23855 Detroit Rd., Westlake, OH 44145. We will meet in the Spirit Room in the administrative wing of the building.

METABOLIC HEALTH AND MENTAL WELL-BEING: A NEW PERSPECTIVE
Karen Tomoff, LPCC

Could the way our bodies produce and use energy affect our mood, memory, anxiety, and overall mental well-being? Emerging research suggests that conditions such as depression, anxiety, brain fog, and cognitive decline may be influenced not only by psychology, but also by factors such as blood sugar regulation, inflammation and mitochondrial health. This growing field, known as Metabolic Psychiatry, is opening new avenues for understanding and supporting mental health.
Researchers are also exploring whether nutritional approaches including ketogenic and low-carb diets may help improve brain energy, reduce inflammation and support emotional well-being.
Join us for an engaging discussion as we explore this fascinating connection between physical health, brain function and mental wellness. No medical background is required to attend. We will also discuss how these concepts fit well within the Unity framework for spirituality.

Karen Tomoff, LPCC, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 35 years of clinical experience. She specializes in working with Depression, Anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
