March Lunch & Learn

Tuesday, March 17, 12:00 p.m. | The March Lunch and Learn is on Tuesday, March 17, 2025. Our address is 23855 Detroit Rd., Westlake, OH 44145. We will meet in the Spirit Room in the administrative wing of the building.

Join Mary Kazmir as she describes her knowledge of our beloved Canadian Geese. Canada geese are a vital part of our natural world and local ecosystems, but they can wreak havoc when it comes to manicured landscapes and seed plantings. They cause billions of dollars in property/crop damage per year, and their droppings are toxic. In the spring they become aggressive and territorial. They are a protected species in the United States, so it's not recommended that individuals take matters into their own hands when it comes to "managing" the problems Canada geese cause.

Mary Kazmir is CLE Goose Girl and she visit schools and social groups educating the public on the Why's and What's of Canada geese. Specifically why feeding them is a REALLY bad idea. Through her work as a professional goose chaser, her co-worker and trusted partner is a trained border collie named Bud. I've got funny stories, bad actor stories and useful advice your members can apply right away when encountering these birds during all seasons.
